When choosing an urn, it is important to pick one that best represents and honours your deceased loved one. When selecting, there are many things to consider; however, if you are at a loss with where to start, you can begin by looking at urns relating to a person's gender. What to look when choosing an urn for a woman
There are no requirements for what to look for when choosing an urn. The options can be easily customizable to each individual. However, when selecting one for a female family member, one thing to look for is their place or role in your life. For example, if the deceased person is your mother, you may want to look at ones tailored to mothers. This would be the same for sisters, daughters, aunts, nieces, etc.
You might also consider looking for urns with symbolism typically associated with women. For example, flowers are often connected to femininity. They are often viewed as a symbol for fertility and love; goddesses are often depicted with flowers or flower crowns; flowers are often compared to a woman's beauty in literature (e.g., Romeo and Juliet – “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet”), etc.
Urn colour is also a consideration. Traditionally, specific colours are more associated with femininity. These are often lighter colours, such as pink, purple, and white.
